Partner FAQ

Here are the most common questions about the BookToilet pilot. If you can’t find what you need, email info@booktoilet.com.

What is BookToilet?

BookToilet is a pilot program that helps people find nearby restroom access, while supporting small local businesses such as shops, cafés, galleries, salons, and studios. It allows businesses to offer restroom access in a simple, paid, and controlled way.

What do I need to do to join the pilot?

You only need to:
• Fill in your place details (name + address)
• Confirm where we should send your QR stickers (your place or another delivery address)

How does it work for visitors?

Visitors discover your location on the map, enter your place, and scan the QR code at the restroom door to pay and access the toilet.

🚪 Entrance (optional)
Helps visitors confirm they’re in the right place when they arrive.

🚻 On the WC door (required)
The QR code is placed on the restroom door — this is where visitors scan and pay.

Simple flow:

Find the place → enter → scan at the WC → done ✅

Can I pause my place?

Yes. You can set your status to Paused anytime. This is useful if your restroom is temporarily unavailable or if you don’t want to accept visitors at certain times.

Do I have to offer access all the time?

No. You stay fully in control. You can limit access by time, staff availability, or pause it anytime.

Is it free for visitors?

That depends on your setup. BookToilet supports different options (paid access, customer-only, or free access). Most partners in the pilot use paid access.

How much do visitors pay?

During the Berlin pilot, restroom access typically costs €1.5 to €2.5 per visit. Pricing may vary slightly depending on the location and partner settings.

Will random people start coming into my place?

No. BookToilet is not a public restroom system. Access is controlled and paid, and happens only when someone actively chooses your location and scans the QR code at the restroom door. You can also pause or limit access at any time.

Will this affect the atmosphere of my shop or café?

No — the system is designed to stay discreet and low-impact. Visitors already enter many places to ask about restroom access — this simply replaces awkward conversations with a clear and controlled process.

What if I don’t want to allow access at certain times?

You are always in control. You can limit access to specific hours, depend on staff availability, or pause your place completely at any time.

What information is shown publicly?

Your place page can show:
• Name
• Address
• Optional description
• Opening hours (if provided)
• Photos (optional)

You can edit this anytime.

Do I need to upload photos?

No, photos are optional. They can help visitors recognize your place and increase trust.

How do I update my place details later?

Go to My Place, make changes, and press Save.

What if something looks wrong?

You can update your place anytime in My Place. If needed, we can also help — just email info@booktoilet.com.

What if the QR code doesn’t work?

Try:
1) Scan with a different phone
2) Check your public preview
If it still doesn’t work, email us and we’ll fix it quickly.

Can I remove my place?

Yes. You can pause anytime or contact us if you want to fully remove your location.

How does revenue sharing work?

Each paid visit is shared 50:50 between BookToilet and the partner, after payment processing fees and VAT.

Who do I contact if I have questions?
